My name is Amber Garcia and I am your school social worker for Noonan Elementary. I'm passionate about promoting student wellbeing and helping every child feel safe, supported, and empowered to succeed both in and out of the classroom. I am committed to supporting our students with their social and emotional needs, while working closely with families and staff to create a safe, positive, and inclusive school environment.

Services Provided to Students, Families and Schools

• Conducting bio-psychosocial assessments and social histories
• Providing crisis management services, including assessing for safety
• Advocating for student services and students' best interests
• Developing intervention strategies to increase academic success
• Help student develop appropriate social interaction skill
• Conducting home visits
• Case management services including, but not limited to, referrals to community resources, collaboration with other professionals
• Identifying and resolving ethical issues
• Providing training and workshops to teachers, school staff and parents
• Contributing to a multidisciplinary team
• Managing and supervising social work interns
